Capsized boat throws several overboard near Put-in-Bay

OTTAWA COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A capsized 15 foot boat throw 7 people overboard near Put-in-Bay just before 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

According to the 9th District Coast Guard, a good samaritan and a water taxi were able to rescue the 7 people.

One person was transported to the hospital via helicopter for chest pains and shortness of breath, everyone else was treated on shore.

A small craft advisory was issued yesterday at 4:43 p.m. by the National Weather Service in Cleveland. The advisory is set to expire at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
