COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley fired several guns during a visit to FN Manufacturing in Columbia Friday.

A year ago officials announced Columbia Police Department officers soon would be carrying FN's 9mm pistol, which is it's designed specifically for police officers.

"We came to celebrate another one of our manufacturers," said Haley. "What a source of pride this for South Carolina and for the country.

"To me this was particularly personal because they manufacture the M4's, the M240's, the M249's," said Haley. "All which Michael is using in Afghanistan."

"This is one of our great manufacturers in South Carolina. They happen to manufacture guns, but what I spoke about with the executives here is, 'What's the business climate like?'" said Haley. "The fact that we've got a lot of different manufacturers looking at South Carolina, whether they're gun-related or not, continues to speak highly for our state."

"I did get a chance to fire a gun," said Haley. "Quite a few and it was a good time. It was a good stress reliever and I did it in heels!"

Last month, Haley was in attendance when gun maker PTR Industries announced it was relocating to South Carolina from Bristol, Connecticut.

It chose South Carolina after Connecticut passed stricter gun laws in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings.
