PHOENIX (CBS5) -

An armed burglary of a 93-year-old grandmother's home is caught on camera in a central Phoenix neighborhood.

The homeowner's granddaughter, Kimberly Anderton, says she just moved her grandmother out of the home and they were still in the process of moving items to another house.

According to Kimberly, the burglars broke in by throwing a brick through a back window. Three other thieves entered the East Weldon Avenue house by unlocking the back door from the inside.

The entire incident was caught on security camera.

"The cameras were meant to watch my grandmother," Kimberly said. "We didn't even think to check the video until later."

The video shows four male suspects in a back hallway of the house. One of those suspects pointed a gun into an empty bedroom while another held what appears to be a knife.

"Thank God [my grandmother] wasn't home," Kimberly said.

Kimberly says the thieves stole electronics, jewelry and several items with high sentimental value.

"They have my grandfather's dog tags from World War II." Kimberly says, "his [honorary] flag, he was killed in World War II."

The burglars also took one of the security cameras. Once they realized they were being recorded, each of them pulled a shirt over their head and continued to browse the house for valuables.

Kimberly and her family say crimes like this have been happening more frequently in the area of East Weldon Avenue and North 21st Street but Phoenix Police couldn't say if similar reports were taken or if this incident is connected to any other crimes in the area.
