TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A serious crash on N. Hawley St. and Brewster St. closed the intersection for several hours.

Toledo Police say a truck pulled out of an alley onto northbound Hawley and was rear-ended by a speeding SUV.

The impact scattered debris all over the roadway and pushed the truck to the side of the road.

Police say the driver of the SUV was seriously injured and is not expected to live.

She was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

The truck driver escaped injury.

The sound of the wreck was horrifying for those who heard it.

"It was like a loud bang. Heard screeching of tires. Heard metal, crushing of metal pieces. Heard that kind of noise," said witness, Michael Cunningham.

Police say seconds before this crash, the driver of the SUV was involved in another less serious accident at Hawley and Western Ave.
