SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Reidville man is in custody after an incident where he broke into a house, was caught peeping into a window and was subsequently shot by the homeowner, according to Spartanburg County deputies.

Brian Troxtel, 26, is charged with first-degree burglary and two counts of eavesdropping, according to warrants.

Deputies said Troxtel was first spotted by two young girls when he was hiding behind a door inside of the victim's house.

One of the victims yelled that she had a gun and said she was calling the police, according to deputies. Troxtel then left through a bathroom window, escaping before deputies arrived, according to the deputy's report.

The suspect, Troxtel, then returned at 5:50 a.m. the same night and was looking in the windows, deputies said. The report said the father of the victims was at home at this time and caught Troxtel looking into a window.

Deputies say the victim's father shot at Troxtel as he fled the scene.

Troxtel was later treated for two gunshot wounds in Lakeland, FL, according to deputies.

Deputies say the victims were able to identify him because of strange Facebook messages he sent to the them.
