PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL (WJHG/CNN) - A parasailing accident caught on video put two Indiana girls in the hospital in Panama City Beach, FL, both are in critical condition.
The rope carrying them over the shore broke Monday afternoon and strong winds had them on a beeline toward a high rise condominium.
The two were injured when they collided with the condo, power lines and several cars on their way down.
Medics rushed the two 17-year-old victims to the hospital.
Those who saw the accident felt helpless describing the mishap as a nightmare.
"It was heading towards the condos and they were screaming and it was, it was horrific. And they hit the building and then they stopped screaming and it was awful," Inga Bobbin said. "Everybody was trying to get to them and nobody could do anything."
"They flew over the building at that point, then the chute deflated, that's when they fell into the palm tree, then the wind picked them up from the palm tree and they went in between two cars in the parking lot. I was terrified for her both of them," Adam Hall said.
The two teens are from Roanoke, IN.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigators and the Coast Guard are looking into the incident.
