EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Marcus Lattimore was in the Upstate on Sunday, greeting fans and signing autographs at the new Sam's Club in Easley.

The running back was the San Francisco 49ers fourth round pick in the 2013 NFL draft.

Lattimore was also a star player for the South Carolina Gamecocks.

He suffered a devastating knee injury during the Gamecocks' 2012 season, just one year after overcoming another ligament injury that required surgery and months of physical therapy.

Lattimore told our crew at the Sam's Club event that he is still training every day and still undergoing rehab so he can be ready to hit the field for the 49ers this season.

Lattimore said he won't be ready for training camp this summer, but says his goal is join the team on the practice field at some point in the upcoming season.

Lattimore's appearance was part of the grand opening Celebration for the Sam's Club at 309 Rolling Hills Circle, in Easley. The store opened for business on Thursday.

We'll have more on Lattimore's appearance during Sunday night's newscast.
