SUMTER, S.C. (AP) - An animal rescue and rehabilitation group is sponsoring an evening walk in Sumter for dogs and their humans to provide medication for ill canines.
The Sumter Item reports Saturday's event is being sponsored by For Belle's Sake Rescue and Rehabilitation at Dillon Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The entry fee is $5.00 per dog, and all proceeds go directly to treatment of heartworm-positive dogs at the rescue.
Water will be available for the dogs, as well as games and prizes. All breeds are welcome, and dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and not aggressive. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
