ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Orangeburg County officials are giving credit to an "observant" deputy who located a hoard of drugs, several weapons, and over $1,000 in cash during a traffic stop on Monday.

Authorities say the deputy, Donald Boyle, noticed a car parked in the middle of Monks Corner Road in Eutawville. Boyle walked up to the car and spoke with the driver, identified as Wade Carson Harmon, Jr.

According to Boyle, Harmon acted "nervous" while he was being questioned. Boyle then checked outstanding warrants and discovered Harmon was wanted in Dorchester County.

Officials say Harmon was placed into custody, and Boyle began to search Harmon and the car.

Boyle said he found a bag of marijuana, $1,334 in cash, a pipe, and a silver container containing methamphetamine on Harmon.

A search of the car turned up 35 grams of ground pseudoephedrine, two small bags of cooked meth, 619 pseudoephedrine pills, a marijuana grinder, 272 lithium batteries, a 12 gauge semi auto shotgun, a bolt action 22 long rifle, a black Llama .45 pistol with a loaded magazine, and assorted paraphernalia associated with the cooking of methamphetamine.

But that still wasn't all. As Harmon was taken to the Orangeburg-Calhoun Detention Center, officials located another small bag of marijuana in his shorts.

Harmon has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and blocking the roadway.
