Gregory Electric worker injured in Lexington 'making progress'

LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) -

A Gregory Electric worker injured while working on a live wire in Lexington is "making progress", according to his employer.

Officials say the worker was shocked by the wire around 3:30 p.m. near the Walgreens on Main Street and Highway 378.

The worker was knocked unconscious and flash burned as a result of the incident.

Emergency officials quickly transported the worker to the Augusta Burn Center

There is no word on his condition.

Power crews also worked to restore power that was knocked out in the wake of the issue.
