Funeral scheduled for toddler who died after head was smashed into faucet

Funeral arrangements have been scheduled for the toddler who died last week after his head was slammed into a faucet.

A funeral service for 2-year-old Jayon Wilson Turnipseed is set for Tuesday, May 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home on Farrow Road.

Police say the toddler died after 34-year-old Margie Hamm slammed his head into a faucet at a home Friday night.

Hamm was arrested and charged with homicide by child abuse, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Hamm remains in the Alvin S. Glenn detention center.

Hamm is the girlfriend of the father of the victim, according to police.
