(RNN/KENS/CNN) - Firefighters in San Antonio are still looking for two missing people after heavy rain and flooding swamped the area and left thousands without power.

Police confirmed earlier Saturday the body of a 29-year-old woman was found on the north side of the city behind a store. Firefighters were working to recover the body of another woman in a separate incident.

"We had firefighters actually in the water on a boat trying to save a 60-year-old lady in Leon Creek," San Antonio Fire Department Chief Charles Hood said. "[They] broke the window. One of the firefighters ended up cutting his hand. They were in the midst of trying to get her out, the currents changed, washed that vehicle away. So, we are in the process right now of a body recovery in the Leon Creek area."

More than 200 people have been rescued across the city, including some people who were pulled from rooftops.

However, the vast amount of water in the area is making rescue efforts difficult.

The Associated Press reported one of the two missing people authorities are searching for is a teenage boy who tried to cross a suburban creek where the water was high.

A flash flood watch is still in effect for many counties in south Texas. Officials are urging people to stay off the roads, especially if they see standing water.

"Our officers and firefighters are doing a great job of monitoring the various closures and keeping the public safe," San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said. "I've been kept abreast of literally hundreds of high water rescues and at least one tragic death due to swift water."

Torrential rains across south Texas overnight and early Saturday morning triggered flash flooding.

Flood waters inundated streets, making travel impossible in some areas.

The National Weather Service estimated as much as 9" of rain may have fallen near downtown San Antonio, and nearly all rivers and streams in Bexar County have had high flooding.

Olmos Creek, which runs through San Antonio, received as much as 15.5" of rain since Friday night, and the San Antonio International Airport had received almost 10".
