WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) -

South Carolina Highway Patrol has ruled a Charleston County sheriff's deputy was at fault for a collision which happened in West Ashley on Sunday, but no charges will be filed.

Sergeant Bob Beres confirmed Wednesday officials had completed their investigation into the wreck which happened around 2:30 p.m.

The 53-year-old deputy was treated and released Monday from MUSC after suffering minor injuries in the crash which happened near Roper St. Francis Hospital.  The 58-year-old woman involved in the crash was also treated and released on Monday.

Officials say the deputy's car had its lights on and was crossing Paul Cantrell Boulevard from St. Francis Hospital onto Magwood Drive, when a 2009 Honda Pilot collided with the right side of the deputy's cruiser.

Troopers said the driver of the Honda Pilot was heading towards Bees Ferry Road on Glenn McConnell Parkway.
