Comet restores Saturday bus service

The newly re-named "Comet" (Central Midlands Transit) bus service will restore significant service on major, high-performing routes, which will enable riders increased access to the system this weekend.

Many of the services were cut in 2012 due to lack of funding, but at an April board meeting the COMET board of directors voted to approve this measure and restore 80 service hours each day.

"Our board wanted to restore this service as soon as possible, and we have been waiting on final approval from the Supreme Court regarding the penny tax," said Dr. Bob Schneider, executive director of The COMET.
