COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says surveillance footage caught at a cell phone store on Decker Boulevard may help investigators solve an attempted murder.

Lott says one of the men in the surveillance video "may be involved or have information related" to the shooting of a 21-year-old man on Long Shadow Lane back on May 9.

A photo from that footage shows the man with dreadlocks wearing a black t-shirt.

Investigators say four black men followed the victim from Faraway Drive onto Long Shadow Lane, assaulted him, shot him multiple times in the upper body, and stole his backpack and money.

The victim was transported to Palmetto Health Richland in serious condition.

Lott says deputies are also seeking a gray Ford Focus that may have been used in connection with the shooting.

If you have any information about this case, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
