City Hall: Ariel Castro's sister works at city jail

19 Action News Reporter Ed Gallek has learned that Ariel Castro's sister is employed by the city and is assigned to the House of Correction.

Cleveland Correction Officer Noemi Castro is currently detailed to administrative duties and will not have any contact with prisoners at the House of Correction. This action was taken at her request.

Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were rescued from Ariel Castro's Seymour Avenue home last Monday. The women had been held against their will and sexually assaulted for years.

Berry went missing in 2003 a day shy of her 17th birthday. DeJesus disappeared as she walked home from school in 2004 at the age of 14. Knight went missing in 2002 at the age of 21.

Ariel Castro is currently jailed on $8M bond.
