Tonight & Early Saturday: Spotty light rain or drizzle will be possible tonight and tomorrow. Due to the proximity of the system west of us being fairly far away, rain should stay light during the first half of Saturday. If you have some things to get done tomorrow, you may want to get them done early in the day before the heavier rain comes down later.
Of course there are plenty of events this weekend including Spring Fling in Spartanburg and also the Farmer's Market opens on Saturday for the first time in 2013.
Saturday PM & Sunday: Heavier rain will be likely Saturday night and also Sunday with 2-4" of rain possible with a few towns picking up as much as 5"-6".
A Flood Watch has been issued for Greenville, Pickens, Oconee, Spartanburg, Anderson, Abbeville, Elbert, Hart, Stephens, Franklin, western Polk, Henderson, Transylvania, southern Jackson and Macon counties until Sunday afternoon.
Much Cooler than Normal: Temperatures are expected to stay much cooler than normal remaining in the 54°-60° range all weekend. Our normal high for this time of year is 77° in Upstate towns and 72° in Western NC towns. That means temperatures this weekend will be around 15-20 degrees cooler than normal.
It's pretty fascinating when you think about how cool we have been this week compared to where we should be for this time of year!
Sun Returns Next Week: After a long absence, some sunshine will return for the middle part of next week.
Low 80s Next Weekend?: By next weekend, the upper level pattern looks like it will eventually flip to more of a "normal" flow for early May. A temperature range of upper 70s and low-middle 80s are possible as a ridge of high pressure and calmer winds settle overhead. We should enjoy some sunshine next weekend as well which will be a nice change compared to the consecutive soggy weekends.
