UNION COUNTY, SC (WYFF) - Police say a woman shot another woman Wednesday, and it was caught on cell phone video.

Union police said they were called to West Henrietta Street at about 3 p.m. about a shooting.  Police said when they arrived they found Sheriff David Taylor and a deputy standing with 49-year-old Sherry McMorris, who was handcuffed. The police report said a purse and pistol were lying on the ground next to McMorris.

A man approached the officers and said that he had recorded the shooting on his cell phone. The officers watched the video, and said they could see McMorris walk up to the victim and pull a gun out of her purse and fire it. Two witnesses are seen on the video taking the gun from McMorris and tossing it to the man who shot the cell phone video.

Police said the 38-year-old victim was wounded in both legs. She was taken to Wallace Thompson Hospital.

McMorris was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent crime. The warrant said McMorris was previously convicted of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
