CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A Mt. Pleasant woman and alleged target of a federal murder-for-hire plot has filed a restraining order against her estranged husband, whom she has accused of masterminding the plot.

Charleston County court records show Nancy Latham's attorneys filed a motion on Monday for order for protection against her estranged husband, Christopher Latham.

The filing comes weeks after a civil lawsuit was filed against Chris Latham. In the complaint, Nancy Latham's attorneys argue Latham and his girlfriend, Wendy Moore, contacted a Kentucky man, Samuel Arthur Yenawine, to murder Nancy Latham "along with anyone else in her company at the time of the murder attempt."

The complaint also states Yenawine then recruited Aaron Russell Wilkinson to be a part of the conspiracy. The lawsuit also includes a fourth person that has not been named. Lawyers say they believed this person allegedly laundered money.

Moore, Wilkinson, and Yenawine were all arrested in early April after federal investigators say Wilkinson revealed the plot to the Charleston Police Department.

Federal investigators say the hit was supposed to be carried out on Apr. 7, one day before the Lathams were set to appear in family court for divorce proceedings. Court testimony revealed Wendy Moore had been working for and living with Chris Latham.

Moore, Wilkinson, and Yenawine have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. They are all being held behind bars.

Chris Latham, a Bank of America executive, has not faced criminal charges in connection with the case.

At the time of the filing of the civil lawsuit, Nancy Latham's attorneys said their client was "in hiding," having undergone great emotional stress.
