Tornado Watch issued for portion of Midlands

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for several counties in the northern Midlands.

The watch was issued at 2 p.m. for the following counties in the Midlands: Newberry, Fairfield, Kershaw and Lee.

The watch is in effect until 9 p.m.

According to WIS forecaster Tim Miller, a quick line of thunderstorms will move through the area between 4 and 8 p.m., With it comes the possibility of gusty winds, small hail, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain.

Miller said there is also the possibility of a tornado.
