Albany St. rally falls short to Columbus St.

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany State baseball team only has one SIAC series remaining before the conference tournament.

The Golden Rams currently sit atop the East division standings, but Wednesday, they had an out of conference tune up with Columbus St.

The in-state rival Cougars held a 7-1 advantage in the 6th, but Albany St. managed to plate two runs to cut the lead.

CSU then built the lead again.

Albany St. managed to load the bases in the 8th, but were unable to plate any more runs.

The Cougars closed out the 9-7 victory in the 9th.

The Golden Rams finish their regular season on the road at Paine this weekend.

The SIAC Tournament begins April 25 in Ozark, AL.
