Sheriff Leon Lott says the men who were arrested on gambling charges in connection to the Brett Parker gambling ring were offered Gamblers Anonymous courses in lieu of the charges.

Lott says out of all the suspects, only one person accepted the offer while the others all paid the $262.50 fine.

In all, 17 people were charged with gambling in connection with the Parker case.

Parker himself is charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of his wife, Tammy Parker, and Bryan Capnerhurst.

Both were shot and killed on April 13 inside Parker's home on Tackeria Court.

Parker turned himself in to face the charges. Investigators believe Capnerhurst was part of the gambling operation Parker admitted to running.
