COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Despite an assurance that he's been given the all clear on "all alcohol-related" charges tied to a traffic stop in Chester County, the jury trial for Rep. Bakari Sellers is still pending, according to court records.

In a statement, Sellers says those charges came from a stop following the University of South Carolina football game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

"As I said that day, I take full responsibility for my actions," said Sellers in a statement. "I was too tired to drive, and I should have made a better choice. I apologize and will do my best to set a better example for our youth and to continue to move South Carolina forward."

Deputies booked Sellers into the Chester County Jail just hours after Sellers told deputies he'd been drinking at the event.

An incident report indicated Sellers failed all three field sobriety tests that were performed on him during the stop.

Sellers' license has been suspended following those charges, but a judge reinstated it back in February.
