CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - South Carolina may be the state known for comeback stories.  First, it was former governor Mark Sanford. Now, another man who fell from grace is making good on a popular cable network.

On Wednesday night, Thomas Ravenel told WIS sister station WCSC that he is part of the brand new Bravo network TV show called Southern Charm

Bravo is known for its Real Housewives franchise. This new show for Bravo will feature young aristocrats in Charleston and southern plantations.

Ravenel, who was elected state treasurer in 2006, resigned from office and served time in prison on a drug charge.

Ravenel owns a plantation in the Lowcountry and is the son of Arthur Ravenel for whom the landmark Cooper River Bridge is named.

The Ravenels were among the earliest families to settle Charleston in the late 1600s.
