ELLABELL, GA (WTOC) -

Authorities in Bryan County say autopsy results are in and charges will soon be filed against the family of a 21-month-old toddler that was mauled to death by seven pit bulls.

Detective Donnie Thomas says the autopsy shows Monica Laminack died of injuries consistent with a dog attack and the results do not show any foul play.

Investigators say the child was left alone when she was attacked in the family's backyard on Elm Drive in Ellabell.

Bryan County Sheriff's Office says they completed their interviews with the family on Wednesday, but they are giving the family more time to grieve before those charges are filed.

Charges are likely against the mother, Summer Laminack, 18, but investigators would not confirm if this is still the case or if any other charges will be filed.

The sheriff plans on meeting with the district attorney to discuss this case now that the interviews and autopsy are done.
