CPD: $40,000 worth of marijuana trafficked on Greyhound bus

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Columbia Police investigators acting on a tip discovered $40,000 worth of marijuana and two weapons during a drug bust on Devine Street Wednesday afternoon.

Officers made the bust just after 1 p.m. after receiving the tip that told them the drugs were coming in from Atlanta on a Greyhound bus.

Police arrested 25-year-old Antonie Terrell Parker and 26-year-old Roger Rivers.

Parker is charged with trafficking marijuana, transporting narcotics in a motor vehicle and possession of a pistol during commission of a violent crime.

According to investigators, Parker picked up Rivers at the Greyhound station on Gervais Street and they drove to the 4200 block of Devine Street.

There, CPD officers initiated a traffic stop and found the drugs in a suitcase.

Rivers and Parker were booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. No word on a bond hearing.
