The Charleston County Sheriff's Office has charged a 23-year-old man with tying up a 14-year-old girl and raping her last year.

According to court documents, the Ridgeville resident was supposed to be caring for a 14-year-old girl at a Johns Island home in March 2012 when he tied her up and raped her.

The affidavit states Wilson tied the victim's hands behind her back using a bed sheet before he took off all her clothing and began groping her.  He then had sex with her, according to court documents.

The alleged incident was originally reported to deputies on Mar. 25, 2012.

Sheriff's office spokesman Major Jim Brady said the victim had spent much of the past year in therapy and counseling, and was only recently able to provide a statement to investigators.
