COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

SCE&G crews have repaired a natural gas leak after a car crashed into a Chinese restaurant on Broad River Road.

Columbia Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins says the car crashed into the Chopstick Chinese Restaurant in the 2600 block of Broad River Road at about 7 p.m. Friday. The car hit a gas line.

Jenkins says nobody was injured.  Everyone got out of the restaurant safely.

Surrounding businesses were also shut down.

Jenkins says the gas line ruptured inside the restaurant.   Because of the position of the car, Jenkins says utility crews had a hard time capping off the line.

The driver told Jenkins his foot slipped, hitting the accelerator, causing him to slam into the building.
