Monday: Upstate towns will feel both breezy and chilly conditions all day under a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will only make it into the middle-upper 40s for many towns south of the mountains.
A Winter Storm Warning is posted for Western NC as snow come down heavily at times in many towns above 2,500ft. Graham, Swain, Haywood, Madison, Yancey and Mitchell counties are included in this winter storm warning. A Winter Weather Advisory is posted for Jackson County. Some valley towns will get snow at times today before tapering off by this evening. Watch out for back-roads and highways across the mountains.
Tonight: More snow will fall along the ridge tops tonight, but mainly above 3000ft. Meanwhile, clouds will break for Upstate towns leaving a mostly clear sky as temperatures plummet. Lows will fall into the 30s for the Upstate with 20s in Western NC by morning.
Tuesday: Snow will persist in Western NC along the high elevations before tapering off by late in the day. Snow totals will approach 4-8" within Graham, Swain, Haywood, Madison, Yancey and Mitchell counties.
The Upstate will see a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will stay cool as highs range between 47° and 50° with 30s once again for Western NC
Wednesday: Expect a cold morning Wednesday followed by a sunny and slightly warmer afternoon. Temperatures will make it into the low-middle 50s for Upstate towns with 40s for Western NC towns.
Warmer Thursday & Friday: After some chilly morning temperatures, we'll be able to enjoy nicer, more comfortable afternoons with a lot of sunshine later this week.
