COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A woman is in jail Thursday after investigators say she bit a deputy on the arm while he attempted to arrest her Wednesday night at a local car dealership.

The incident happened at JT's Kia off Killian Commons Parkway Wednesday night, according to Richland County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Curtis Wilson.

Wilson says deputies were called out to the dealership because 45-year-old Rosa Yolanda Samuel was harassing store employees and customers. They said she was photographing them and they wanted her off the property, according to Wilson.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they asked Samuel to leave the property. When she refused, a deputy attempted to place her in handcuffs, according to Wilson.  That's when he says she bit the deputy on the arm, breaking the skin.  EMS was called out to treat the injury.

Samuel was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and threatening a public official.
