Motorcyclist dies in two-vehicle collision

SUMTER, SC (WIS) -

A motorcyclist died in a two-vehicle collision near Sumter on Sunday night, according to the Highway Patrol.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on US 521 near Old Camden Road.

Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock says 20-year-old Austin Turner of Sumter died in the crash.

According to troopers, Turner pulled his Honda motorcycle in front of a Lincoln SUV on US 521 near Old Camden Road.

Shortly after the crash, emergency personnel transported Turner to an area hospital where he died. Troopers say he was wearing a helmet.

Bullock said Turner died from internal injuries due to blunt force trauma.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
