NEWBERRY COUNTY, SC (WIS) -
Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster says quick response by emergency personnel helped a man who was injured in an industrial accident Saturday.
Foster posted the information on the Newberry County Sheriff's Office Facebook page about a rescue Saturday in the Silverstreet area. Foster said Newberry County EMS, Newberry County Rescue Squad 14 and fire departments from Silverstreet and Bush River responded to the scene.
Newberry County deputies also assisted on the call. Upon receiving a cell phone call from the victim, Foster said EMS dispatchers used mapping technology to locate him. The man had to be airlifted by helicopter to the hospital.
"All praise goes to the first responders that worked under hazardous and difficult conditions to rescue the victim and get him to emergency care," said Foster in the Facebook post.
The man's name and the extent of his injuries have not been released.
