NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Rod Odom and Dai-Jon Parker each scored 18 points to lead Vanderbilt to a 74-64 victory over South Carolina on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Parker set a career-high and Odom scored 16 points in the first half for the Commodores (14-16, 8-10 Southeastern Conference), who fended off a late charge.
Vanderbilt led by 12 in the second half but South Carolina (14-17, 4-14) pulled within two, 56-54, on Lakeem Jackson's layup with 3:45 left. Josh Henderson answered with a layup and Parker knocked down a 3-pointer.
The Gamecocks cut the deficit to four twice in the final two minutes but Vanderbilt made five straight free throws to seal its fifth straight victory in the series.
Vanderbilt leading scorer Kedren Johnson scored 10 of his 12 points - all coming in the second half - from the free-throw line.
Brenton Williams led South Carolina with 17 points.
