RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Richland County Sheriff's deputies hope the release of surveillance video from a Midlands gas station will help them identify and arrest a robber.

Sheriff Leon Lott said the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. on February 17 at the Kangaroo Gas Station located at 7800 Garners Ferry Road.

Lott said a man armed with a handgun walked into the business and forced the clerk to put money in a bag.

He threatened to shoot the clerk if she didn't comply. The robber made the victim go to the back of the store as he fled with the money, Lott said.

The suspect is described as a black male, with a New York accent, possibly 5' 6" tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, wearing a gray ski mask (with dread locks sticking out from underneath), off-white latex gloves, a black coat with a fur trimmed hood, and dark denim jeans.

A cash reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible is available. You are urged to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC with information.
