COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Keenan overcame a 7-point halftime deficit to win its first girls basketball state championship since 2008 with a 46-41 victory over defending champion Bishop England Saturday.
Kiera Robinson scored 14 of her 17 points during the second half comeback. The senior was 12 of 14 on free throws as the Raiders outscored the Bishops by a 22-12 margin on foul shots.
Daisha Eddy added 14 points for Keenan (20-6).
After trailing 22-15 at the half and shooting 4 of 24 from the field in the first half, the Raiders only trailed by one to begin the third quarter. They were behind by three after two Mary Harriet Moore free throws but took the lead for good on two Robinson free throws with 5:35 remaining.
Michele Boykin scored 15 points for Bishop England (23-4) before leaving the game in the final minutes with a neck injury. Moore added 10 points for the Bishops.
