COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson helped South Carolina Cub Scouts build the first of what tourism officials hope will be 600 new picnic tables at South Carolina state parks.
Wilson announced the "600 in 60" program at Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia Saturday morning. The program aims to put 600 picnic tables in parks by the end of April.
Wilson was joined by Cub Scouts, who will put together at least three tables, and by officials from Cox Industries, Inc., an Orangeburg manufacturer of outdoor wood products.
