Four people have been arrested for holding a mother and her child captive for years in Ashland.
According to the charges, the suspects used beatings, threats of death and threats of attacks from pit bulls and large snakes to hold a woman and her child against their will for two years.More >>
Six children were passengers on a school bus that left the roadway and hit a tree Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Highway Patrol, the crash happened near Swansea on W.E. Jeffcoat Road at Sharon Church Road.
Troopers say the bus went off the right side of the roadway, hit a ditch and then a tree.
The driver was charged with driving too fast for conditions, troopers said.
One child was transported to urgent care for treatment. The other children were taken home on another bus.
