COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -
Midlands residents are once again curious about a series of booms and shakes that rattled the area on Thursday.
WIS viewers from Camden, St. Matthews, Sumter, and Cassatt have all called the news room asking about what caused the disturbance.
Law enforcement officials say they have received several phone calls and messages in the past hour.
The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office says they've taken many phone calls from residents in the area and they aren't certain what is causing the booms.
Fort Jackson officials also say they are unaware of what could be behind the issue.
The US Geological Survey is also not reporting any earthquakes or aftershocks.
WIS is working to find out what is behind the disturbance. Details are very limited, and phone calls have been placed to various public officials to see if we can uncover the source.
