LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police believe the car-to-car shooting that caused a fiery wreck and resulted in the deaths of three people stemmed from a dispute at a Las Vegas Strip casino property.

Las Vegas Metro Sheriff Doug Gillespie revealed at a news briefing Thursday that a verbal argument at the Aria hotel-casino valet preceded a shooting and resultant crash before 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Following the verbal argument, the occupants of a black Range Rover opened fire on the occupants of a Maserati, striking the driver. The driver of the Maserati accelerated down Las Vegas Boulevard and through a red light, striking a cab at the Flamingo intersection.

The taxi cab burst into flames, claiming the life of the cab driver and a passenger.

Police also said the driver of the Maserati was killed as a result of the shooting.

The wreck also involved four more vehicles at the intersection, and at least six others were injured, including a passenger in the Maserati, police said.

Police said one person remained hospitalized following the wreck.

Gillespie said investigators are reviewing surveillance video from nearby hotels and cabs.

Metro said the black Range Rover fled the scene. Police believe the vehicle had black rims, dark tinted windows and car dealer plates from out-of-state.

In addition, a supervisor for Desert Cab Company confirmed one of its vehicles was involved in the deadly wreck. They did not disclose a cab number or name of the driver involved in the incident.

The intersection at Flamingo and the Strip was completely shut down following the incident. It reopened at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
