COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

An employee of the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has been indicted in connection with a security breach.

The Richland County Grand Jury indicted 37-year-old Christopher Lykes, Jr. of Swansea and 45-year-old Toshia Yvette Latimer-Addison of Lexington. Lykes was a SCDHHS employee.

Lykes was indicted on four counts of willful examination of private records by a public official, public member, or public employee and one count of criminal conspiracy.  Both charges are felonies.

Latimer-Addison was indicted for one count of criminal conspiracy, a felony.

The indictments accuse Lykes, while working at SCDHHS, of reviewing confidential department records in early 2012.  Latimer-Addison is accused of conspiring with Lykes.

The South Carolina Attorney General's Office is prosecuting the case.
