(RNN) – A day after long track tornadoes devastated Shawnee and Edmond, OK, another round has begun near Oklahoma City.KOCO broadcast a slow rotating cloud that slowly extended down towards the ground
Dozens of people have died after a second day of tornadoes twisted through Oklahoma, this time taking aim at the town of Moore, south of Oklahoma City.

Officials in the Midlands are asking you to take action now to fight a problem seen every year around this time.

Cats will soon be going into heat. And if they aren't spayed, it could mean a lot of homeless animals.

Pawmetto Lifeline is hoping to cut down on the number of stray kittens you might see over the next few months.

Through a grant from PetSmart Charities, they're offering to spay your cat for $20, which is a third of the normal price.

Spaying is about more than just population control. It can also protect your cat against illnesses like uterine infections and mammary cancers.

It's a message that animal advocacy groups have pushed for years now, and it appears to be working.

Columbia/Richland's animal shelter has seen a decrease in the number of animals coming through their doors.

"People are starting to get it," says Pawmetto Lifeline's Tracy Johnson. "They don't want the accidental litters. They don't know what to do with the puppies and kittens and unfortunately the only option is to put them in a shelter situation."
