The VSU men's basketball team (15-7, 7-7) avenged a Gulf South loss last month to West Georgia with a 71-60 win over the Wolves Thursday night at home. The win made it back to back conference victories for VSU. David Murray was the high man for VSU with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Senior Josh Sparks added a double double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. The Blazers will play at West Alabama on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the news was just as good for the VSU women's team (14-8,7-7) as the Lady Blazers moved to .500 in the conference with a 81-76 over West Georgia (13-9,7-6). It was the third straight win for the Lady Blazers who were led by Kourtnee Williams who had a team high 24 points. Williams was one of five VSU players with double digit points. The Lady Blazers will also play at West Alabama on Saturday.
