TIFTON, GA (WALB) -
Much of the attention this high school basketball season in Tifton has been on the number one ranked Tift County Blue Devils.
The Lady Blue Devils are also having a banner year.
The Lady Blue Devils are riding a 14-game winning streak and are unbeaten in region play.
That streak is starting to get them noticed with the Lady Blue Devils now ranked among the top ten teams in the state's highest classification.
Tift County will put their streak on the line with big region games on Friday and Saturday.
"All of the praise needs to go to the girls. They have been working extremely hard. We have got some great seniors. We have got great leadership and then coach (Erick) Willis has been guiding them. We have been so pleased and they are just coming together at the perfect time. They are playing great basketball right now," said head coach Julie Conner.
"It is very good because we have never been ranked number 8 in the state. Nobody hasn't really noticed us. We have been doing really good," said senior Brakia Batemen.
Tift County basketball teams play at Lowndes on Friday and host Valdosta on Saturday.
