Former state Rep. Thad Viers was indicted by the Horry County Grand Jury Thursday on charges of first degree burglary and petit larceny.

According to the Grand Jury, an apartment Viers allegedly burglarized belonged to his ex-girlfriend, the very same woman he was accused of harassing and stalking.

Viers, an ex-legislator from Myrtle Beach, was previously indicted by the Grand Jury for those charges.

"These indictments are the result of an ongoing investigation of this incident by the Myrtle Beach Police Department and SLED Computer Crimes Center," said a statement from the Fourth Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office.

Viers was arrested in January 2012 after his ex-girlfriend told investigators he continued to call, text, email and show up at her home and work for more than five months after they broke up.

In an interview last year, he called the situation a "politically motivated matter over a few love letters."

Viers' law license was suspended, he resigned from his House seat, and he was forced to abandon his campaign for Seventh Congressional District seat that eventually was won by Rep. Tom Rice.

The Grand Jury plans to have Viers arraigned next week.
