Funeral procession rolls through Burger King on way to burial site

YORK, PA (NBC) - A funeral procession for a Pennsylvania man was truly a "whopper."

88-year-old David Kime's family says their late father loved Burger King's Whopper Junior sandwich.

As a tribute, the 40-car funeral procession hit the drive-thru on the way to the cemetery.

Kime's daughter Linda said it was a way of honoring her father and the things that made him happy.

At the end of the service, she placed a Whopper Junior on the casket.

"We were all psyched up and everybody was ready for it," said Burger King manager Margaret Hess. "So, I think it's great that we have somebody who's that devoted that it's their last and final thing that they're gonna do."

The drive-thru order was set up with the restaurant in advance.

The 88-year-old World War II veteran died from heart complications on January 20th.
