VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
The Valdosta State basketball team opened a critical homestand with a 68-60 win over Christian Brothers.
It is just the second win for the Blazers in their last six games.
Patrick Diop led VSU with 17 points and he also had 4 steals.
David Murray added 12 from the bench with the Blazers shooting 50% as a team for the game.
Valdosta State also had 9 blocked shots in the game and are 11-5 and 3-5 in the GSC.
The Lady Blazers suffered their first loss at the Complex this year 60-52.
Freshman Courtney Sprague led the VSU women with 14 points.
The Lady Blazers are 10-6 and 3-5 in the GSC.
Valdosta State will host Delta State in a GSC doubleheader on Saturday.
The women's game starts at 11:30 a.m. and the men will play at 2:00 p.m. with the start times set for national television on the CBS Sports cable channel.
