CHULA, GA (WALB) -
Tiftarea senior golfer Thomas Buckner signed to play at Berry College next year Wednesday afternoon at the school's media center.
He was the medalist last year when Tiftarea won the GISA AAA state golf title at Doublegate Country Club.
Thomas said at first he didn't know if he wanted to play golf at the collegiate level but then realized he needed to take advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity.

"It is really just a dream come true. To be able to actually go up to Berry. Talk to the coaches. Just have this opportunity to play collegiate golf. Not a lot of people get to do that. I am just truly blessed to have that opportunity," said Thomas Buckner.
Tiftarea will open the 2013 golf season March 4th at the Frederica Invitational.
