CHULA, GA (WALB) -
Tiftarea softball teammates Lakyn Souter and Brooke Keen joked often about remaining teammates in college.
It is no joking matter but the two all-stars are smiling.
Lakyn Souter and Brooke Keen both signed to play for Donna Campbell and the hometown ABAC Fillies next year.
Both players say they decided to stay at home and play for ABAC after talking with their future coach.
Souter is a two time all-region player who will play shortstop for the Fillies.
Keen will be part of the ABAC pitching rotation after winning 18 games last season for the Panthers.
"We are like sisters now. We have always dreamed about playing together but we would never realized the opportunity we would get. I am really thankful for that," said Brooke Keen.
"It is amazing. She is like a sister to me. We have always grown up together. It is just going to make the experience so much better," said Lakyn Souter.
Tiftarea won the GISA 3-AAA title last year.
