Republican leaders across the nation converge on Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -

In the final day of the winter meeting for the Republican National Committee in Charlotte, chairman Reince Priebus was re-elected to a second two-year term.

Charlotte is the same North Carolina city where Democrats re-nominated Barack Obama for president four months ago.

Over the course of the three day meeting, the RNC expected about 250 people to attend meetings at a downtown hotel. Most of the work included business meetings and training sessions.
Former Charlotte mayor and new Gov. Pat McCrory hosted a welcoming reception Wednesday evening at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal - a potential 2016 presidential hopeful - was the featured speaker at a Thursday night dinner.

The Democratic National Convention was held in September in Charlotte.
