Authorities have released the identity of a teenager who died after losing control of the Jeep he was driving in Lower Richland County Wednesday morning.

According to the Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:45 a.m. on Reynolds Road near Hickory Hill Road. The location of the incident is about three miles south of Eastover.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said 19-year-old Robert C. Lloyd of Eastover was ejected from the vehicle after running off the road, overcorrecting, and then running off the other side of the road.

The Jeep then hit a tree and burst into flames, troopers said.

Watts said Lloyd was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Highway Patrol and the Richland County Coroner's Office are investigating.
